The Extended Cruise Kit for the Katadyn PowerSurvivor 40E-12V watermaker contains all necessary seals, O-rings and lubricant for the necessary seal change. Additionally included in the set are 6x 30 Micron Filters with the corresponding O-rings, the preservative and cleaning product for the membrane and the lubricant for the eccentric gear (both the grease for the grease-lubricated gear and the exact amount of oil for the oil-lubricated gear).

Description

The Extended Cruise Kit for the Katadyn PowerSurvivor 40E-12V watermaker contains associated products for the following maintenance operations. Please consult the manual of the Katadyn PowerSurvivor 40E unit for further information:

Seal replacement: The seal kit contains all the necessary seals, O-rings and lubricants for the Katadyn PowerSurvivor 40E. The seals should be replaced after approximately 1000 hours of operation, in case of age-related damage or heavily worn seals. The replacement of the seals is explained in detail in the manual in the chapter named Maintenance and Service/Seal Replacement.

Pre-filter maintenance: The 30 Micron Pre-Filter should be changed regularly. The offered set includes 6x 30 Micron Filters and 3x O-rings for the pre-filter housing.

Membrane storage & preservation: The offered set contains 1x Katadyn Membrane Preservative* (240 g). Preservation is required to eliminate all bacteria and organisms in the desalination system. In temperate climates preservation is required from one week, in tropical climates from four days. After preservation, the Katadyn PowerSurvivor 40E can be stored for one year. In case of storage for several years, conserve once a year.

Cleaning of the membrane: The offered kit contains 1x Katadyn Alkaline Membrane Cleaner and 1x Katadyn Acid Membrane Cleaner. Contents 240 g each.

Purpose of use Katadyn Alkaline Membrane Cleaner**: The product is used to remove organic fouling from the membrane. The organic fouling usually occurs during permanent use in brackish water or when the system has not been preserved.
Purpose of use Katadyn Acid Membrane Cleaner***: The product is used to remove mineral deposits from the membrane. A common indicator of mineral deposits in the system is lower production of fresh water.

Never mix the chemicals.
